UK jobs: 31,487 on record

The dataset holds 31,487 UK cleaning jobs recorded between 2019 and 2026, with a gap in 2022. They span England, Wales and Scotland and are spread across nine services. Many jobs bundle services, so a single booking can count under more than one of them, and the totals below overlap.

End of tenancy cleaning is the biggest service by name at 14,990 jobs. Appliances cleaning has the most jobs in total at 15,712, most likely because it is often added to other bookings. Carpet and rug cleaning (12,372) and one-off deep cleaning (10,657) follow. Mattress cleaning (825 jobs) and pressure washing (345 jobs) are the smallest of the nine.

The mix says something about how UK households use professional cleaners. Most work is linked to a life event, such as moving out of a rented home, or to a deep job that is hard to do alone, such as carpets, ovens and appliances.

Jobs per year, and a gap in the records

This is how many UK jobs are on record in each year. Two notes before you read it. 2022 shows only 20 jobs because of a gap in the records, not because work stopped. 2023 is a partial year of data, and 2026 is the year to date as of 10 October.

2025

2026 (to date)

For that reason no trend line is drawn across 2022. The most recent full years are 2024, with 6,469 jobs, and 2025, with 5,489. By 10 October 2026 the dataset already holds 4,594 jobs for the year.

What a typical booking is worth

The median booking value is used here, the middle value of all bookings, so a few very large jobs do not distort it. Across all jobs since 2024 the median is £256. Half of bookings fall between £195 and £345.

YearMedian booking value
2024£245
2025£268
2026 (year to date)£260

The median rose from £245 in 2024 to £268 in 2025, and stands at £260 so far in 2026. This is the value of the whole booking, which often bundles services, not the price of any single service. For starting prices, see the price list, and for a city breakdown see cleaning prices by city in the UK.

Median booking value by service

Here is the median booking value for jobs that included each service, since 2024. The range shows where the middle half of bookings fall, from the 25th to the 75th percentile.

End of tenancy cleaning£260£210 to £3367,234
Oven cleaning£257£179 to £3563,261

These are totals for whole bookings, so a mattress job at £298 is not the price of a mattress clean. It is the median for bookings that included a mattress, and most of those also had other rooms cleaned. Pressure washing has the highest median at £388, as outdoor jobs are measured by area. The number of jobs with a price is lower than the total job count, because not every job has a value recorded.

What UK customers say: 6,919 positive reviews

There are 6,919 positive reviews on record: 2,680 from Trustpilot, 963 from Google and 3,276 from customer surveys. Those are the 4 and 5 star reviews from Trustpilot and Google and the 8 to 10 out of 10 scores from the surveys. No average star rating is published here, because only positive reviews are counted in this figure.

Put another way, that is 6,919 positive reviews against 31,487 jobs, and the three sources give a mix of public and private feedback. Trustpilot and Google reviews are public, and the surveys go to customers after the clean.

How to read these UK numbers

A dataset from one company is a useful window on the UK market, but it has limits. Four points help you read it fairly.

  • It is a sample, not the market. The jobs come from one company working across England, Wales and Scotland. Other companies may see a different mix of work.
  • Services overlap. A single booking can include an end of tenancy clean, carpets and an oven, so it counts under all three. The service totals add up to far more than the job total.
  • Money figures are whole bookings. A median booking value is the total for a job, not a price per service. Starting prices for each service are on the prices page.
  • Time has gaps. Records for 2022 are almost empty and 2023 is partial, so seasonal patterns use the full years 2024 and 2025 only.

For deeper cuts of the same data, read cleaning prices by city in the UK, end of tenancy cleaning price by bedrooms and what customers book most.
