What a professional oven clean covers

A professional oven clean covers the inside of the oven: the cavity walls, roof and floor, the door and inner glass, the racks and trays, and the seals where they can be reached. The hob and the extractor can be added. The aim is to remove baked-on grease and carbon that household cleaners struggle with.

In the UK data, 7,418 jobs include an oven clean. The most common line items are a single oven (22% of jobs) and a double oven (14%). The hob (4%) and the extractor fan (4%) are less common additions.

How much does oven cleaning cost in the UK?

Oven cleaning starts from £25 for a single oven and £45 for a double oven or AGA. The price is fixed and confirmed on the quote. See the prices page.

ItemPrice from
Single oven£25
Double oven or AGA£45
Extractor fan£20
Fridge or dishwasher£15

Across 3,261 oven cleaning jobs since 2024 the median booking value was £257. Half of bookings came in between £179 and £356. This is the total for the whole booking, which often bundles several services, so it is higher than the starting price of a single item.

The median is far above the single oven price because oven cleaning is usually part of a larger booking, such as end of tenancy or deep cleaning. Oven cleaning booked alone costs the starting prices above.

Median booking values come from one UK provider, not the whole UK market.

Doing it yourself works if the oven is wiped regularly. A professional clean makes sense when grease is baked on, the oven has not been cleaned for a long time, or an agent will inspect it. Never use harsh oven cleaner on a self-cleaning oven without checking the manufacturer instructions.

The kitchen (87%) and bathrooms (86%) are in most of these jobs, which shows that oven cleaning is rarely booked alone. It sits inside bigger cleans, especially end of tenancy and deep cleaning. The full scope is on the oven cleaning page, and fridges and dishwashers are in the appliance cleaning guide.

Oven cleaning across the UK

The table shows the areas with the most oven cleaning jobs since 2024. Prices are set nationally, so differences in the median mostly reflect the mix of extras booked in each place, not a different rate.

Across the 25 UK areas with enough jobs to compare, the median booking value runs from £190 in Glasgow to £316 in Cambridge. London has the most jobs (694 since 2024). The areas include Scotland as well as England.

Oven cleaning medians swing more from area to area than other services, because the base is small and the mix of bundled work changes. Treat them as a guide to booking size, not to the price of the oven clean. More areas are in cleaning prices by city in the UK.

How to prepare for an oven clean

  • Make sure the oven is cool and has not been used for a few hours.
  • Take out anything stored inside, such as trays or baking tins you want to keep.
  • Clear the worktop beside the oven so the team can work.
  • Say what type of oven you have: single, double, range or AGA. The type sets the price.
  • Mention any fault, such as a loose door or damaged seal.

How to keep an oven clean between professional cleans

  • Wipe up spills once the oven has cooled.
  • Use a tray under dishes that may bubble over.
  • Clean the racks regularly in the sink.
  • Check the extractor filter, because grease builds there too.

For a landlord or agent, an oven is one of the first things checked at the end of a tenancy. See the end of tenancy cleaning guide.

What this means for you

  • Budget from £25 for a single oven and £45 for a double oven or AGA.
  • Add the oven to another booking, since most oven cleans are bundled.
  • Friday is the busiest day. September is the busiest month.
  • Expect a free re-clean if something is missed and reported within 72 hours.

How the numbers were calculated

Source: Hello Cleaners job records, 31,487 UK jobs, part of Hello Services Ltd.

The records cover jobs recorded between 2019 and 2026. This guide uses the 7,418 oven cleaning jobs in that dataset. Prices and areas use jobs since 2024. Months use the full years 2024 and 2025. Days of the week and start times use all years. 2022 has almost no records and 2023 is partial, so no trends are compared across those years. 2026 is year to date.

The median is the middle value: half of bookings were below it and half above. It is the total of a whole booking, not a per-service price. The data comes from one UK provider and is not the whole UK market. See also Hello Cleaners in numbers, what customers book most and cleaning prices by city.
